How does it work:

  • The MedChemBio Posters Online event will take place via the platform LinkedIn. If you do not have an account, you may consider setting one up in advance.
  • Register for the event via the online registration form. Deadline to register is November 13.
  • The event will take place on November 20 from 10 am to 6 pm (CET). Please make sure to check the time difference of your time zone.
  • On the event’s date, submit your poster as a LinkedIn post using the hashtag #MCBPoster25. You may add additional tags to enhance the general visibility of your poster.
  • In addition to your poster, you may present a 1–2-minute poster slam (video) as a short overview of your research. Re-post the poster slam using the hashtag #MCBPosterSlam25.
  • Keep discussing your poster during the whole event. Use the comment function to get in touch with the community and the committee and make sure to address all relevant questions.
  • Your poster will be evaluated by our committee composed of members of the SCT, the GDCh MedChem Division and the EFMC YSN.
  • We will award 4 poster prizes of 150€ each, sponsored by the above organisations.

How to prepare your poster:

You can choose any dimensions for your poster, the important thing is that the text and figures are clear for people to read and understand. Using Microsoft PowerPoint, we found a text size of between 12-16 was clear to read when saving an A4 slide as a JPEG and uploading it to LinkedIn.

If using an A0 template, the text needed to be between 50-60 to be legible. You can use any software you like to create your poster, as long as the image you upload is clear for others to read.

We recommend testing your poster on LinkedIn before the conference to make sure you are happy with your image.

Additional information on the poster talk (optional):

A poster slam is a great way to highlight your research and distill the most important facts. You are encouraged to be creative in setting up the video presentation, which should be 1-2 minutes long. Please make sure that you speak clearly (English of course) and that the sound quality is appropriate. Subtitles are not mandatory but may enhance the accessibility of your presentation.
